Win a Trip to Paris 2024 terms and conditions

1 GENERAL TERMS

1.1 By entering the contest, the participant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions. For the avoidance of doubt, this set of terms and conditions shall override any general competition terms and conditions on our website.

1.2 Unless otherwise stated, entrants must be 18 years of age or over and a UK resident to enter the competition. Entrants must also have a valid UK passport with at least six months remaining on it on the date of travel.

1.3 The online competition “Win a Trip to Paris 2024 Competition” (the 'Competition') is offered by the British Olympic Association, (‘the Company”) whose registered address is: 101 New Cavendish St, London W1W 6XH. The prize will be provided by On Location, who are the delivery partner for the British Olympic Association for the Competition.

1.4 Only one entry per person is permitted and subsequent or multiple entries shall not be valid. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed. The winner shall be the named respondent on the randomly selected winning submission. Competition entries that are automatically generated by computer, completed by third parties or in bulk will not be accepted.

1.5 Competition Period: Entries for the contest will be accepted until the time outlined on our competition page.

1.6 The purpose of the Competition is to select a person that will win a package for two people to attend the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. This prize will include Standard Class travel via Eurostar (London-Paris return), three nights in a three-star hotel in Paris (only one double occupancy room shall be provided), and tickets to watch four sport events for two people, such events to be selected by the British Olympic Association in its sole discretion. The provisional dates will be 7th August 2024 – 10th August 2024 inclusive but the British Olympic Association reserves the right to change these dates at its absolute discretion. The timings, dates, travel arrangements, hotel, and sport sessions are not amendable by the winner. The British Olympic Association any third parties involved with the delivery of the prize reserve the right to apply alterations to the prize details where necessary.

1.7 The British Olympic Association and On Location accept no responsibility for any costs associated with the prize that are not expressly included in clause 1.6 above. For the avoidance of doubt, the costs of (i) travel to and from London to get to/from St Pancras station for the Eurostar; (ii) travel in Paris, including travel to any of the sports events; and (iii) food and drink during the trip shall not be included in the prize and shall be payable by the prize winner. Each prize winner is solely responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes, including taxes imposed on his/her income.

1.8 To enter the competition: no purchase is necessary; however, internet access and access to http://teamgb.com/paris-win (the ‘Site’) are required.

1.9 The prize winner will be chosen at random and contacted by a representative from the British Olympic Association via the email address/telephone number provided on entry within 48 hours of the competition closing date, which will be listed on our competition page.

1.10 In order to receive the prize, the winner must respond within 48 hours of initial contact.

1.11 If the prize winner fails to respond within 48 hours of notification, the prize will be forfeited and an alternative prize winner(s) will be contacted.

1.12 Proof of submission shall not be proof of receipt. Entries that are incomplete, incorrectly filled in, illegal, illegible, in the incorrect format or fraudulent or those not received in accordance with these Terms and Conditions shall be deemed invalid and not accepted. The British Olympic Association does not accept any responsibility for technical failures which prevent an entrant from submitting an entry and no responsibility will be accepted by the British Olympic Association for entries lost, corrupted or delayed in transmission.

1.13 The prize is non-transferable, non-negotiable and no cash alternatives will be offered.

1.14 Eligibility for being selected among the winning entries is based on the discretion of the British Olympic Association.

1.15 The British Olympic Association reserves the right to modify, cancel, extend or discontinue the prize draw rules or any part thereof at any time without prior notification.

1.16 The British Olympic Association accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the competition or accepting the prize.

1.17 The British Olympic Association further disclaims any liability for any injury or damage to the individuals associated with this prize save for where (i) death or personal injury is caused by negligence; (ii) such liability arises from fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (iii) for any other reason or by any cause which cannot be excluded by law.

1.18 The British Olympic Association will not take any responsibility for an individual’s behaviour and any consequences associated with an individual’s actions during the period of the prize.

1.19 The British Olympic Association shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations relating to this prize where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, the COVID-19 pandemic or connected events, weather conditions, fire, flood, hurricane, strike, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, inevitable accidents, supervening legislation or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure.

1.20 Winners may be required to participate in publicity related to the prize which may include the publication of their name and photograph in any media.

1.21 By entering this competition, you will be given the opportunity to opt-in to receive information and offers from the British Olympic Association. If you do opt-in to such communications, you will be given the opportunity to unsubscribe at any time.

1.22 By entering the competition, the prize winner gives consent for their name, contact number and address to be passed to any necessary third-party providers (including but not limited to On Location) for delivery of the prize. Save for the exception above and unless you have opted-in to receive future marketing communications from the British Olympic Association, your personal data will not be passed to any third party unless required to do so by law or an appropriate regulatory authority.

1.23 By entering the competition, entrants are sending their personal information to the British Olympic Association who will at all times process an entrant’s personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.

1.24 The British Olympic Association’s decision is final in every situation and binding on the entrants. No correspondence will be entered into.

1.25 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these Terms and Conditions, the British Olympic Association may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.

1.26 The British Olympic Association reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.

1.27 These Terms and Conditions will be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

1.28 The Company will assume (and by entering the Competition the Entrant will warrant that) that any Entrant shall have legal capacity to enter into the agreement set out in these Terms and Conditions (i.e. that each Entrant is of sufficient age and mental capacity and are otherwise entitled to be legally bound in contract).
