Bruce Mouat’s history boys banked at least an Olympic silver medal for Team GB and will go for curling gold against Sweden on Saturday.
Mouat, Grant Hardie, Bobby Lammie and Hammy McMillan outgunned reigning Olympic champions USA 8-4 in a titanic semi-final tussle.
Victory secured Britain’s third men’s Olympic curling medal and first since silver at Sochi 2014 - won by David Murdoch, who watched on proudly from the bench as head coach.
The quartet's focus now turns to the gold medal match against Niklas Edin's Sweden and the goal of winning Britain's first Olympic curling title since 2002.
The topsy-turvy semi-final triumph was the eighth successive victory of an outstanding debut Olympics for the quartet.
Team Mouat topped the round robin standings with eight wins from nine games, their lone defeat coming against John Shuster’s USA that they avenged when the heat was on.
The early exchanges were frenetic and high-scoring as Britain scored three in the third end, either side of scores of two from Shuster.

Mouat’s men led 5-4 at the halfway stage and the dynamic of the game totally changed after the break with the next three ends all blanked.
Two sloppy shots from American third Chris Plys reopened the door and Britain laid one in the penultimate end, leaving USA with too much to do, scoring two in the last and sealing the win.
It capped a brilliant day to be British at the Ice Cube after Eve Muirhead’s women secured a shot at an Olympic medal by finishing third in the round robin stage.
