Kerenza Bryson wrapped up Team GB's modern pentathlon action with a ninth placed finish on Olympic debut.
The 25-year-old was inspired to take up modern pentathlon after meeting Beijing 2008 silver medallist Heather Fell in Year 7 and finally made her dreams come true in Paris.
Alongside her Olympic exploits, Bryson is also a qualified doctor and has trained as a Maritime Troop Commander Reserve Officer at Sandhurst.
At her maiden Olympics, Bryson stormed into the final showcase after a dominant display the previous day, winning her semi-final in a new Olympic record.
But having to put everything together once again the next day, it was a challenging and tiring final for Bryson who ended up ninth overall. Bryson revealed she was trying to focus on the positives after finally becoming an Olympian.
“Mixed emotions," she said. "I’m really disappointed in my performance because I came here to try and get a medal.
"With my performances this season and how I was feeling, I thought I was capable of getting one.
“But with modern pentathlon, pulling five things together on the same day, there’s always an element of luck and I had a few things today and in the fencing the other day that didn’t quite go to plan.
“I’m trying to be positive and remember I’m an Olympian, I’m a doctor and I’m an army officer, so I have other things going on and sometimes you have to remember there is more to life than sport and medals.”
Defending champion Kate French was forced to withdraw from the final after picking up an injury.
