Charlotte Fry won her first individual Olympic dressage medal with bronze, to add to her team bronze from earlier at Paris 2024.
Both her Team GB teammates Carl Hester and Becky Moody had sat in podium positions during the final before Fry and her horse Glamourdale rocketed to the top of the standings.
The 28-year-old's routine featured British classics including The Verve’s Bittersweet Symphony, Queen's Another One Bites The Dust, and The Beatles' Hey Jude as well as God Save The King.
Her score of 88.971 moved her above teammate Hester before German duo Isabell Werth and defending champion Jessica von Bredow-Werndl moved above her.
That left Fry with a nervous wait to confirm her medal as top qualifier Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour still had to go.

That could be good enough for a Team GB medal – let's wait and see 🤞#BBCOlympics #Olympics #Paris2024 pic.twitter.com/uJgGEO03uX
But the Dane could only do enough to finish in fifth, one place above Hester and Fame, with Moody and Jagerbomb in eighth.
And Fry revealed that there were shouts of elation after realising last minute that she had won bronze.
"I didn’t watch any of [the other riders]," she said. "I knew they were all very good, so I didn’t want to disappoint myself and I was happy with my ride.
"On my way back to the stables, by coincidence I thought we’d better check the score, we had decided to start packing up and suddenly there was a lot of screaming as we realised we had the bronze.
"It’s absolutely amazing. I’m so, so proud of Glamourdale. I 100% knew he was capable of it, but to be able to pull it off today and get the bronze, it’s just incredible."
Fry’s medal means Team GB have been on the podium in every equestrian event so far, with just the individual showjumping final to come tomorrow.
The Scarborough native has now won three Olympic medals with team bronzes at both Tokyo and Paris, while she adds individual Olympic honours to World and European successes.
"To get the team bronze yesterday, it was an amazing feeling," added Fry. "I feel like it was so well deserved with the three of us, then to get the individual medal was crazy.
"I think you always dream of it. I always am striving to be better and I know Glamourdale is one of the best horses in the world, so I knew it was possible.
"I do like to put a bit of pressure on myself, but I think when you’re in there, all you are thinking about is that moment. So when it becomes reality, it’s insane."
