Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix is thriving in Paris and now has a shot at an individual medal.
The 19-year-old emerged from the 10m platform semi-finals in third place, teeing up a tilt at the podium.
"I'm so happy," she said. "The job today was to get into the final and I've done that. I feel like I can enjoy tomorrow, it's show time."
Chinese pair Quan Hongchan and Chen Yuxi continued to show their class and are perhaps as close to perfecting their discipline as anyone at the Games.
The synchro gold medallists banked a series of 9s in the preliminaries to qualify as the top two by a distance, with Quan scoring 90.75 for her fourth dive.
But Spendolini-Sirieix seems to be the best of the rest, amassing a total of 367.00 for her five dives and with North Korean Kim Mi Rae back in fourth with 322.40.

With a synchro bronze already under her belt alongside Lois Toulson, who finished 13th in the semis to narrowly miss out on the final, Spendolini-Sirieix is having the time of her life at the Games and it could be about to get even better.
"The Games have been so much better than Tokyo," she said. "I'm so happy, I've got joy in my heart. I love diving and it's completely different. I've cherished this whole experience."
