With today’s unveiling of the 16 athletes set to compete for Team GB at next month’s Lillehammer 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games let’s find out more about the Games and how you can follow the team’s progress in Norway.
The Opening Ceremony for Lillehammer 2016 will take place on Friday 12th February with the competition also kicking off that day. 10 days of winter sport action will then follow as around 1,100 athletes from 70 nations will look to compete in 70 medal events.
In total, 15 sport disciplines make up the programme which includes brand new events such as the monobob – where athletes slide down the bobsleigh track as individuals rather than in pairs or teams of four.
When not competing, Lillehammer 2016 will offer a wider experience for all athletes including 150 activities through the Sjoggfest festival such as ice climbing, parkour and live music acts.
Led by Chef de Mission and former Olympic skeleton athlete Adam Pengilly, Team GB will compete in seven of the 15 disciplines; alpine skiing, bobsleigh, curling, freestyle skiing, ice hockey skills challenge, luge and skeleton. You can meet the team here!
The best way to follow the action is via the Team GB social media feeds with Twitter, Facebook and Instagram covering all the live and behind the scenes action from Lillehammer 2016.
We’ll also have daily articles posted here on TeamGB.com and the BBC will be out covering the Games and showing features online throughout the 10 days as well as a wrap up highlights show at the end. #GoTeamGB
